The unique City Multi Hybrid VRF system

Simultaneous cooling and heating without the use of refrigerant in air-conditioned rooms – specially designed for the requirements of modern building architecture. Extend your lead!

Choose from two Hybrid VRF system variants

Hybrid VRF as R2 system
Simultaneous heating and cooling with heat recovery

The R2-series enables simultaneous heating and cooling via a two-pipe system and the Hybrid BC-Controller. With the R2 variant, each individual indoor unit within the Hybrid VRF system can be independently operated in heating or cooling mode. The heat from the areas needing to be cooled is used to heat other locations within the same building.

Hybrid VRF as Y system
Cooling or heating

The Hybrid VRF Y-series enables cooling or heating mode based on the heat pump function that is integrated as standard. In the Y-series, a hydro unit featuring an integrated plate heat exchanger is used to exchange energy between the refrigerant and the water. The inverter-controlled pump then ensures that the tempered water is sent to the indoor units in line with demand.

Low maintenance and little assembly required

In the Hybrid VRF system all important hydraulic components from pump to valves are already implemented. The only remaining task is to determine the expansion tank. No costly leak testing at indoor units according to the F-gas regulation is required.

Flexible planning

The Hybrid VRF system provides the greatest possible flexibility in terms of room utilisation, room division and the selection of functions. It is also possible to ensure a smooth connection to the superordinate building management system.

Reduced refrigerant volume

With the Hybrid VRF system, the refrigerant is used only in the outdoor unit and in the Hybrid BC-Controller or the hydro unit. This makes it possible to implement projects that require the premises to be free of refrigerant lines. The use of water as a heat transfer medium means that DIN EN 378 does not apply in individual rooms.

High energy efficiency

The YNW generation of City Multi outdoor units with state-of-the-art inverter compressor technology, large-area microchannel aluminium heat exchangers and many other enhancements guarantee high seasonal energy efficiency.

Lead in installation

Communication via M-Net data bus

Controlling the Hybrid VRF system is an easy and straightforward process using the Mitsubishi Electric system control unit. All communication takes place via the M-Net data bus, meaning that it is not necessary to retrofit any additional communication technology.

Simultaneous cooling and heating with heat recovery

Installed as an R2 series, each individual indoor unit of the Hybrid VRF system can be operated independently in heating or cooling mode. The heat from the areas needing to be cooled is used to heat other locations.

Wide range of indoor units

The wide range of indoor units within the Hybrid VRF system enables climatisation in any kind of premises.

More climate friendly

The Hybrid VRF system impresses with its high level of energy efficiency, providing optimum support in terms of meeting the current guidelines for modern, sustainable construction.

USB port

The on-board USB port makes it very easy to read out system operating data.

All values and percentage-based improvements are stated in comparison with the previous series. The units contain the fluorinated greenhouse gas R410A or R32.
